Two people were yesterday arraigned in Chuka law courts and charged with possession of fake currency that has been in circulating in Tharaka Nithi county.
Anacasio Gitonga Ramson Mutwiri and others not before court allegedly without lawful exercise,knowingly having in possession of special paper and chemicals used for making currency.
They were allegedly intending to make 500 notes currency
The two were arrested by police in Kiracha village in Chuka Sub county at the home of one Antony Silas Gitonga who escaped police arrest.
Jason Mutembei and Renni Kinyua were separately charged with aiding the escape of Antony Silas Gitonga to evade punishment.
All for denied the charges before Chuka resident magistrate Simon Ruto Rotich. They were remanded in custody.
They hearing of the case is scheduled for 15 of this month.
